Read a Korean Program Guide by Date and Channel

A switched-off television, a simple clock and a closed planner in a living room.

You know which Korean channel you want to check, but a list of broadcaster links does not tell you what is scheduled on a particular day. A program guide answers a different question: what the source currently lists for a channel and date.

Korea Broadcast Live - Fun TV now describes a date-based guide for 17 channels, with a choice of time and channel axes. For a US reader, the first useful habit is to establish which Korean date you are browsing before comparing programs. The guide's schedule times are Korean time, not an automatic display of your local US time.

Start with the date shown in the guide

Check the selected date before reading any program title. You may be looking at today in Korea while your local calendar is still on the previous day. That matters even if you already recognize the channel.

Use the date selection or previous and next day controls to move to the day you intend to inspect. Do not assume that returning to a screen always restores the date you expected. Read the displayed context rather than relying on the last visit you remember.

This is a guide-browsing step, not a promise that the app converts every listing to your local time. If you need a US calendar appointment, perform that time-zone conversion separately using an appropriate current tool and the relevant date.

Find the channel before comparing nearby cells

A grid can put several channels and times close together. Read the channel label before treating a neighboring title as part of the same lineup. Similar program names or short cells can make a quick glance misleading.

The current public description lists four terrestrial TV channels, eight KBS radio channels, three live MBC radio channels, and two SBS radio channels in the guide. The important distinction is that guide coverage and the home playback directory are not identical.

SBS Love FM and Power FM are described as guide-only entries, not home playback channels. Podcasts are not guide entries. Seeing a schedule row therefore does not establish that the same service has a matching playback tile elsewhere in the app.

Try the other axis arrangement

The app offers switching the time and channel axes. If your question is “What follows this program on this channel?”, one arrangement may be easier to read. If your question is “What is listed across channels at this time?”, the other may help.

Changing the arrangement changes how you browse the information. It does not add channels, create missing listings, or change the schedule's time zone. Recheck the labels after switching so that you do not read an old position as though the grid had stayed the same.

You do not need to choose a permanently correct arrangement. Use the one that fits the immediate comparison, then verify the date, channel, and time together before drawing a conclusion.

Understand today's highlights

For today, the guide describes a current-time indication and on-air highlighting. These can help you locate the part of the schedule relevant to the present Korean time.

A highlight is still based on schedule information. It is not independent proof of the exact picture currently showing in a broadcaster's player. Live changes, missing data, or retrieval problems can affect what the guide tells you.

For a past or future date, do not expect today's highlight to answer what is happening now. Keep the selected date in view. A grid can look familiar even when you have moved to a different day.

Treat program cells as information, not play buttons

The current description explicitly says program cells are read-only. Program-specific playback links, guide search, and program alerts are not provided. Tapping around the guide should not be presented as a way to launch any named program on demand.

To explore a broadcaster, use the app's official-page directory and the broadcaster's own player. Playback, sign-in, regional access, fees, and available programs depend on the broadcaster and connection. A schedule listing does not override those conditions.

Korea Broadcast is not an official broadcaster app and does not supply or retransmit streams. Its directory and guide help with discovery; they do not establish an independent video library, downloads, offline viewing, or background listening.

Keep viewing reminders separate

The app also describes three viewing reminders with editable times. These are separate from the guide. Selecting or reading a program does not create an automatic alert for that program's start.

If you choose to use a reminder, set its time deliberately and inspect the relevant settings and Android permissions. Delivery can be affected by power saving and other device conditions. Do not depend on a guaranteed exact notification time.

A reminder is a cue to return, not confirmation that the broadcaster will offer the program in your region. When the cue arrives, the broadcaster's current page remains the place to check actual availability.

Recheck the source when information matters

Some guide listings can be unavailable or change with source and retrieval status. A blank area is not sufficient evidence that a channel is off air. Likewise, an older listing is not a guarantee that the planned program remains unchanged.

For a program you particularly want to catch, check the broadcaster's own current schedule and access conditions. That is not a failure of the directory; it is a sensible distinction between a convenient overview and the source responsible for the broadcast.

The app's interface language also does not translate broadcaster sites, channel names, or program titles. An English interface can make navigation more familiar while the underlying source text remains in its original language.

Make one clear browsing pass

A useful sequence is to confirm the Korean date, select the channel, choose the easiest axis arrangement, and read the relevant time and title together. Then use the official broadcaster page for playback questions.

That keeps the guide useful without asking it to do jobs it does not provide. Korea Broadcast can help you compare scheduled information, while you remain aware of the date, source limits, and separate steps needed to watch.
