Use the same method for furniture and appliances

The same process can help with a small table, cabinet, washing machine, or other stable household surface. Check left to right first, then rotate the phone 90 degrees to check front to back. Keep the phone away from moving parts, heat, moisture, and any surface where it could slide or fall.

If an appliance has adjustable feet, change one foot a little at a time and recheck both directions. A correction in one direction can affect the other. For wobbling furniture, also inspect the floor and each contact point; a level top does not by itself explain every wobble.

Understand the reading and its limits

Degrees show the angle of tilt. Percentage and millimeters per meter express slope in forms that can be useful for longer surfaces or planned drainage, but those jobs may require a defined tolerance and a calibrated physical tool. For hanging a frame or making a quick shelf adjustment, use the display to find direction and repeatable improvement rather than treating one phone reading as a certified measurement.

Phone sensors and body shapes vary. A case can flex, a camera bump can create a false contact point, and a rough surface can keep the phone from sitting consistently. Recalibrate if you change the case, orientation, or reference edge. If two repeated checks disagree, stop and correct the setup before continuing.
